Peter 1:16 (KJV):
"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty."
Many times, people fall prey to this—even on a relationship level. You believe something about someone because things appear to be what they are not. But because these tales are so carefully crafted, they sway you, they persuade you into having a perception about someone or something that is not true. That is why, if you are to deal with realities, you must understand that perception can be deceptive.
