Dear Cryptors, CRYPTO IS NOT CBDC — Stop Mixing Them Up
“Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, are decentralised by design. They operate on open, permissionless networks, free from direct government control. CBDCS, by contrast, are digital versions of a nation's fiat currency, issued and fully controlled by its central bank. One offers financial independence; the other extends state oversight.
Conflating the two only plays into regulatory narratives that seek to lump all digital assets under the same restrictive rules.”

level. It could make payments faster and cheaper, expand access for the unbanked, and help governments reach people directly.
