Sometimes it isn't that people don't get the joke. It is just that there isn't any or their sense of humour is so heightened for them to laugh at a lacking one. 🙃

You can't blame them for not getting the joke... Neither can you condemn then for having their dopamine receptors fried.
In those days, a joke was heard after a week, but nowadays, with every tom, dick n harry having a smartphone, connected to the internet, access to the content is as easy as it is to go and ease oneself (given that they're not in ICU)

One just needs to do a dopamine detox in order for their receptors to go back to default.

True. Everything has come to a point where you have to be extra creative to get to people. They have almost heard and seen everything and it isn't like you are doing anything new. It goes to humour too.
The same has also made us lack self awareness, we think we are as talented as everyone else because of the proximity we have with them via the Internet and when people can see it that we aren't, because it is obvious, we blame them for hate and not understanding us.
