Sometimes, our love becomes selfish.
We begin to care more about how loving someone makes us feel, rather than how it actually affects them. But it’s the latter that truly matters.
Without realizing it, we start to subtly demand that our love be paid for with their peace.
The emptiness within us grows, the urge to fill it too.

We begin to press harder, constantly demanding that our emotional needs be met, until we drain them completely.
We wrap them in guilt, accusing them of not returning something they never even asked for in the first place.

When our love becomes selfish, we don't give it freely, but as bait, hoping to create a debt that will eventually be repaid in the currency of our desires.
