Kindness has become so uncommon to the extent that when you show it to someone, they think you're in love with them....

It's humanity, darling, not love!

It is love. Just not romantic probably.
It has also become so common that those who do acts of kindness want something in return that it is hard for someone to believe it is simply an act of kindness.

Fair enough. What I need to know is whether one should assume that we're so cooked as a generation, to an extent that we live life on a quid Pro quo basis....
