Maybe we would be happier.
We would be more patient, more willing to live,
if we remembered that we are a constant work in progress,
holding onto hope until we witness its completion.

If we remembered that we were made a little lower than angels,
Maybe we would not hold ourselves to their standards.

Maybe we would be more forgiving.
Because in knowing ourselves, even as we are known,
We would know others even as they are,
not as we wish they could be.
