Following the UK’s new digital ID law, Digital Agenda reflects on key concerns raised during our October 2024 Town Hall: "Digital IDs-Who's Really in Control?"
Our panel discussed the global push for centralized digital identity systems;
the risks to privacy, autonomy, and inclusion, especially when they are introduced without public consultation, or data protection strategies.
As digital IDs become more common, we should continue to ask; Who is the actual beneficiary in all of this?
