I am not a tech person here, but isn't that what all these data-consuming apps target—a short attention span suitable for short video content in some form of loop as they scroll which keeps them glued because they tend to keep the user's dopamine high?

Yes, that is true. However, I feel that is like an independent aspect of this. Slightly related, but independent. About the algorithms of these Apps.
