There’s a damning and salvaging side of the popular “let’s have both sides of the story” scenario when passing judgement. Sometimes, the event is too morally disturbing that the victim is instinctively considered innocent. Other times, you do that only to learn that the victim was preying on the sympathy of the public to aggravate their anger towards an assumed perpetrator. So, yes, maybe we need both sides of the story even when it irks us to the marrow.
