When it comes to systems, especially tech related ones, I think we, humans tend to find ourselves in a paradox.
(Allow me to consider the digital ID system, for instance)

There are about 3 factions, when it comes to the digital ID;
The elites, who see an opportunity to grab and strengthen their grip on power
The masses, which are divided into 2 groups, one of which is totally unaware of what a digital ID is and the other which I'd say, is well conversant with what it entails to have a digital ID.

Now, I'm not saying that that's all the groups, but in a nutshell, I think that data can be used to make a valid argument.

One thing that we need to make peace with, as humans, is that we can never be 💯 percent perfect ( yes, you might say otherwise when it comes to machines and systems but it is the humans who design(ed) them and (from my good ol' life while I still went to therapy, I used to be told that ) you can't give what you don't have. Sometimes when the control freaks are taking shots at anything that gives them control, the hunger to have everyone under their remote overshadows reasonable calculations considering what might go wrong. And that is the problem. And if we like sheep also follow blindly, we find ourselves suffering these consequences.
