Obedience is better than sacrifice.

It is through obedience that we truly surrender our will to His Lordship, because we stop being obsessed with what we do for Him and begin to focus on what He has said.

Sacrifice expresses how much we are willing to lose for Him, but at times it blinds us to what He is actually asking of us. We begin to measure value by our own standards, assuming that what is precious to us must also be precious to Him. We think that because we value things like money because of how much we need them He must need them too.

In doing so, we deny Him what He truly desires from us: a few minutes of our time, our trust in Him, our acceptance of His love.

We forget that true sacrifice is always rooted in love and love for Him is obedience to His words.
