RUNNING BEHIND LIFE- Marie

Life is always demanding, taking...
It never pauses...
Not when you are tired, injured,
limping and lagging behind.

Life goes on, expecting you to catch up,
Asking for more of your time, resources and energy,
it smiles at those who spend.
Even when it gives, it comes for what it gave multiplied;
it doesn't give handouts, it invests, for gain.

And then on those days,
when I have given all of myself, when I am running out,
When my legs are broken and my hands can't carry me,
crawling behind,
to not lose pace,
With life, with every expectation...

I start wondering,
if my strength is never renewed,
or if it takes long and life has gone far ahead?
Will that be all for me?

Will that be the time to end it all and return to my Father?
Will He take me in, or will He tell me to be patient and stay until the race is won?
I only hope the race is not won by the fastest,
but by the one who refuses to leave.
